Reenactment Of Protest - Performance by Nam Chau

Nam Chau currently studies painting at Kunsthochschule Weißensee, Berlin. In autum 2010 Chau had her first exhibition. Chau's recent paintings are themed around the fact that her mother grew up in a refugee camp in Southern France during the Vietnam War. Her mother never told her anything about her childhood in the camp and no records exists of the time her mother spent there. Nam Chau's paintings depict images of how she imagines how the camp was.

Chau grew up in Agde (France), Untermeitingen (Germany), Pretoria and Paris. Her mother was born in Hanoi and her father in Wülfershausen. In October 2007 changed her German name taking the name Nam Chau, a name which is connected to her grandmother.
