Jim Colquhoun was born in Glasgow in 1962. He graduated from the Environmental Art Department at Glasgow School of Art in 2003 and completed a Master of Fine Art degree at the same institution in 2009. His work seeks to negotiate the boundaries between art and life, waking and dreaming, fiction and fact. To this end he produces drawings, installations, performances and texts. Colquhoun has shown recently in Edinburgh, Stockholm, Bergen, Berlin and Glasgow. His most recent solo show ‘Primary Pulsations’ (Glasgow Project Room 2010) featured an immersive 3D performance with himself, his eight year old daughter Una, a 'forbidden' text and a papier-maché Demon Head.
